As
a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative, PCM Employees Credit Union
is committed to our members.
We will uphold our fundamental responsibility to actively serve people
within our field of membership.
We will treat all members with respect and dignity and we will offer
honest, fair deals to all members at all times.
We strive to be a trusted financial advisor that our members can count on
to assist them with achieving their personal financial success.
We offer a full range of deposit and lending products for all members’
personal needs.
We also deliver a range of low cost products and services to the diverse
economic and social make-up of our members and potential members.
One of PCMCU’s strengths is returning as much of our members’ dollar
back to them as possible.
Research and consulting firm, Callahan & Associates, has recognized
PCMCU’s accomplishments in delivering superior value to its members and has
ranked PCMCU number one in the nation for credit unions its size in their
(Callahan & Associates) “Return to the Member” ranking system.
We’ve maintained this position for the past five years and pride
ourselves on this accomplishment.
We will continue to demonstrate the value of membership in PCMCU and look
for better ways to serve the needs of our members and potential members.
We
will monitor and communicate our service to members in a meaningful way so that
members, potential members, legislators, regulators, and the community at large
will understand and appreciate the unique role that member-owned financial
cooperatives play in their lives.
Throughout
PCM Employees Credit Union's strategic plan, we will put forth every effort to
enable our members to become financially self-sufficient and successful. We will
place high importance on consumer education and the teaching of financial
management.
This
Statement of Commitment to PCMCU Members is consistent with our credit
union principles of "Not For Profit, Not For Charity, But For Service"
and our philosophy of "People Helping People". This statement
represents good business practices that ensure the financial strength of our
credit union on behalf of our members.

Section II: Member Education
PCM Employees Credit Union is
committed to member and consumer financial education;
in addition we are committed to
educating members and consumers, alike, about credit union
uniqueness,
philosophy, and values.
Current Programs that Support Member Education and Advocacy:
Educational
Seminars – PCMCU has held a number of educational seminars for our
members. These seminars cover a
variety of topics, such as, Retirement Planning and Home Buying.
Educational seminars help our members become better financial consumers.
PCMCU.ORG
– Our website is a great source of information for our members.
It contains valuable information about the products and services PCMCU
provides, along with valuable links to auto price guides, investment options,
financial calculators, and more.
Resource
Library – In our lobby, PCMCU provides a resource center with consumer
reports, buying publications, educational brochures, as well as a computer for
access to our website and PCMCU’s online banking service.
Consumer
Credit Counseling Alliance – PCMCU is a member of an alliance between
the WCUL, CCCS, and participating credit unions to provide viable credit
counseling services to members who need it.
Newsletter
Articles - Members receive a quarterly newsletter providing information
about PCMCU products and services. The
newsletter also addresses member education issues, including:
identity theft, recent IRA changes, good saving habits and high rate
check cashing stores.
Community
Presentations – PCMCU’s President is actively involved in the Green
Bay area community. He is a speaker
at NWTC graduations, legislative luncheons, and business administration credit
classes.
Employee
Education – PCMCU provides a special training for employees through
the Staff Training And Recognition Program, a training program to help our
employees understand credit union processes and the uniqueness of credit unions.
In turn, employees convey this information to our members.
Classroom
Educational Materials – PCMCU has provided local schools with
materials related to how to handle a checking account and how to establish a
budget
Credit
Union Information Centers – PCMCU offers credit union information at
each of our SEG locations. Quarterly mailings also provide current information to our
SEG’s.
Budget/Debt Counseling – PCMCU loan officers are trained to
assist members with basic budget and debt counseling. They are able to identify potential areas of concern and work
with members to attempt to avoid future problems.
Section III: Involvement/Governance
PCM
Employees Credit Union will endeavor to preserve credit union democratic
principles, including demographic representation and volunteer participation in
credit union activities.
Current
Programs that support Involvement/Governance:
Annual
Meeting – We invite the entire membership to our annual meeting where
members vote in the election to fill available seats on the Board of Directors.
The membership is also updated on the achievements of the credit union
from the past year.
Board Elections – Official election held each year at the Annual
Meeting.
Each member shall have one (1) vote.
Board Education – Members of the board of directors receive
training and education on current topics and key issues facing the credit union.
One example is the Volunteer Achievement Program, a training program to
help our Board of Directors understand credit unions and how they work.
Campaign
for Consumer Choice
– A credit union wide congressional letter writing campaign was initiated in
1998.
PCMCU members and employees asked their congressional representative to
support the PCMCU Members Access Act, HR 1151.
Committee
Involvement
– PCMCU has several ongoing committees that encourage staff and volunteer
participation, such as:
Supervisory Committee, Nominating Committee, Asset Liability Committee,
other committees are formed on an as needed basis.

IV: Diversity
PCM
Employees Credit Union recognizes the value of demographic diversity in staff as
well as in volunteers, and will strive to bring people of diverse backgrounds
and experiences into leadership and other roles at the credit union.
Current
Programs that Promote Diversity
Equal
Employment Opportunity – PCMCU actively seeks to fill vacancies by
hiring qualified
candidates without regard to race, creed, religion, or socio-economic
status, seeking to represent the
community in which we operate.
Member
Surveys
– Periodic surveys are conducted to gather feedback on our efforts to meet
member needs, and also to solicit ideas from membership for improvement.
Results of the surveys are used for direction and focus for improvements
and are incorporated into the annual planning process.
New

Survey our SEGs to determine the value the credit union provided to their
employees.
Section
V: Commitment to the Credit Union Movement
and other Cooperative Activities
PCM
Employees Credit Union will work to build and strengthen our unique credit union
movement by providing resources to others within the credit union community, and
by actively advocating the credit union difference at all levels of government
and in other appropriate public forums.
In
addition, PCM Credit Union will participate in local, state and national
cooperative activities as appropriate, and will strive to build and strengthen
relationships with other sectors of the national cooperative movement.
Current Activities that Support the Credit Union
Movement:
Political Activity –
PCMCU’s CEO and Executive VP actively work in political campaigns
donating time, money and hosting fundraisers for those who support credit unions.
PCMCU’s
staff and members contact legislators
when appropriate.
Leadership
Roles
– PCMCU’s CEO serves on the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College Alumni
Advisory Board, its Executive Vice President serves on the Wisconsin Credit
Union League Board and its Financial Officer serves on the Brown County Chapter
Board.
State
Level Meetings –
PCMCU encourages its management and directors to attend annually the State
Convention held by the Wisconsin Credit Union League.
This includes the leagues Annual Meeting and excellent educational
sessions.
Chapter
Meetings
- PCMCU takes an active role in the Brown County Chapter of Credit Unions, by
attending meetings and participating in chapter sponsored activities.
PCMCU invites all directors and staff to attend these educational
sessions.
Hosting
Credit Union Informational/Training Sessions
– PCMCU has hosted credit union training and information sessions.
Continuing
Education to Staff
– PCMCU encourages employees to attend seminars that pertain to their
positions and the processes of the credit union.
In addition, PCMCU offers training opportunities to staff through our
local technical college, the Wisconsin Credit Union League and CUNA, via STAR
and MERIT programs.
Alliance
One
– PCMCU is a member of Alliance One, which is an alliance of Wisconsin credit
unions that do not charge each others members for ATM Access.
Cardholders of participating credit union ATMs have free access to nearly
200 credit union ATMs throughout the state of Wisconsin.
New Programs Planned for the Coming Year:
Create training area for employees and directors, including resource
library for online
courses and other directories with available classes.
PCMCU has interest in mentoring a small credit union.

VI: Public Service / Corporate Citizenship
PCM
Employees Credit Union continues to be an active partner in our community.
Contributing to a variety of worthwhile local organizations not only
strengthens ties to our community, but also raises the level of social and
economic well-being of our citizens.
Each
year the credit union budgets to support many organizations in our community,
including but not limited to:
